Using the citsci.org platform and the Citizen Science Project “Leave No Trash”, we will collect litter 3-4 times this school year, on school grounds, in an attempt to determine the type, amount, and location over the seasons (fall, winter, spring, possibly before school is out in June/summer).

From the “Leave No Trash” project description: “(we will be) picking up litter we see and recording the type, amount, and location…(by doing this) we are not only removing it from the environment, we also can better understand how and why it got there in the first place and take steps to reduce litter at the source.”

We will complete this project in cooperation with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance’s education program (formerly Madison Audubon) and is a contribution to SciStarter.org.

This event is just for students at Lincoln Elementary; this event is not open to the general public.
