John Vucetich of Michigan Technical University will give the Wolf Awareness Week keynote presentation at the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute, Northland College, Ashland, WI. The United States Fish & Wildlife Service says it will announce in February 2024 a new decision about the status of wolves under the Endangered Species Act. That decision will be the latest in a series of decisions over the past two decades that have oscillated between affording and rescinding protections under the Endangered Species Act.…

Join Northland College Professor Erik Olson, Timber Wolf Alliance Chair Adrian Wydeven, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Technician Sarah Boles and Timber Wolf Alliance Coordinator Melanie Michaels to learn the basics of wolf ecology and management—including natural history, identification, monitoring techniques, wolf-human conflicts, predator-prey ecology and wolf management.
