Get up-close with the stars, participate in markerless motion capture, and try your hand at a variety of instruments in this special Rock & Roll evening at the library as part of Science on the Square! Activities will be located on the 3rd floor of Madison Central Library from 5-8:30pm.
- Instrument Petting Zoo – Ward-Brodt Music
- Get hands-on with instruments of all kinds—from orchestral to rock and roll—at Ward-Brodt’s Instrument Petting Zoo. Try them out yourself, learn techniques from the experts, and ask your questions about how music is made. Don’t worry, they don’t bite!
- Stargazing on the Terrace – UW-Madison Astronomy Department
- Stargazing will start at dusk!
- Join astronomers from UW-Madison on the rooftop of Madison Central Library to stargaze, learn about space, and play astronomy-themed trivia! All ages are welcome!
- Biomechanics of Rock & Roll – American Society of Biomechanics Student Chapter
- Attendees will participate in markerless motion capture and see a skeletal model of themselves being a rockstar.
