There are a lot of misconceptions about death investigation and autopsy, largely due to inaccurate portrayals on television. Learn more about what really happens after someone dies from death investigation to autopsy. Fact can be more interesting than fiction!

About the presenter:

Jamie Kallan

Forensic Pathologist

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health | Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

Hometown: Muskego, WI

Dr. Kallan is a Wisconsin native who attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison for both college and medical school. She then completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology in Denver, Colorado before finishing her forensic pathology fellowship in Miami, Florida. After having worked at the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner in Salt Lake City, Dr. Kallan is thrilled to be back home working as a board-certified forensic pathologist at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health!
