Lecture: How Glass Optical Lenses Changed the Trajectory of Science
At its October meeting, held at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will celebrate the Wisconsin Science Festival with a two-part program: Coggin Heeringa will offer a program describing how glass optical equipment changed the trajectory of science, followed Thomas Minahan demonstrating how lenses work. Free and open to the public. This event is a collaboration between Crossroads at Big Creek, Door County Library and the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society.

The Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will show the dome video, "Through Two Small Pieces of Glass," featuring the history of telescopes in the inflatable planetarium of the Stonecipher Astronomy Center. This is a collaborative program of the DPAS, Crossroads at Big Creek and the Door County Library.
