Increasingly, ornithological research projects have relied upon contributions of data and effort by non-scientist citizens. Such crowd-sourcing of data provides tremendously valuable data that cannot be acquired solely by scientists. There are many ways that citizens can assist scientific efforts, thereby benefiting efforts to understand and conserve our avian fauna.
