Youth will spend the day exploring outside through a variety of activities including possibly prairie adventures\, canoeing\, fishing\, fort building\, snowshoeing\, sledding\, and more! Activities will be based on weather and time of year. A snack will be provided. Please pack an extra pair of clothes\, weather appropriate clothes\, closed toed shoes\, and a lunch. Lunch will not be provided. October 16th date will focus on exploring natural resources and environmental science! \nAge: 5-12*\nCost: $70 per child. \nExtended care is available 4 – 5:30 pm for an additional $10 (there is no morning extended care). *Child must turn 5 before 9/1/26. \nRegister here! \nAccessibility and Language Access:\nOur department is committed to providing meaningful access to our programs and resources to all individuals\, regardless of primary language or ability. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a workshop hosted by Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance that focuses on building bat boxes and learn about bat conservation\, monitoring\, and how they can help people. Come build a bat box and take it home! Or donate it to be installed in an appropriate place to encourage healthy bat populations. \nAbout Youth Volunteers for Conservation\nAre you a young adult ages 15-21 who enjoys the outdoors? Join the Youth Volunteers for Conservation (YV4C) program to explore Dane County Parks while building real-world conservation skills. Participants will contribute to habitat restoration efforts and gain exposure to career pathways in natural resources across southern Wisconsin. \nHow to Sign up: \nStep One: Create an Account in MyImpact if you don’t have one (one time process)\nAccount application and waiver for 18+ click here.\nAccount application and waiver for those under 18 click here (requires parent signature) \nStep 2: Complete all waivers before signing up! Guided by the wisdom of Anishinaabe graduate student Nisogaabokwe Melonee Montano and university professor Evan Larson\, learn how the very definitions penned to protect our country’s most precious landscapes can instead perpetuate injustice and lead to the impoverishment of both ecosystems and human cultures.
