SUMMARY:Tyke Hike and Bioblitz
DESCRIPTION:Update! Due to weather – we will no longer be meeting at Cushing Park! Instead\, head on over to the library to do a seed scavenger hunt inside and take home a preschool curiosity kit and a map of where the Ice Age Trail runs through Delafield! \nMeet one of our youth services librarians at Cushing Park (600 N. Cushing Park Rd) at 10:00 am on October 15. We’ll go on a 30 minute hike on the Ice Age Trail and do a BioBlitz as we go. It’s recommended that you download the iNaturalist app before attending if you want to practice using the app for your observations\, but this is not required. The hike is stroller accessible; be aware that some of the paths are gravel. Take home a backyard identification guide for some local animals. Check our Facebook page for any updates due to inclement weather\, or register for the event to get notification of any changes. Look for the event tab towards the top of our website. \nLearn more about the WiSciFest BioBlitz and join the project on iNaturalist here!

SUMMARY:PRE-FESTIVAL EVENT: Adult Afternoon Program - Technology Use and Brain Wellness
DESCRIPTION:Join LaReina Tipping\, Program Manager\, from the Brain Center of Green Bay for Technology Use & Brain Wellness. \nTechnology use can actually cause structural changes in the brain. Pings\, alerts\, rings\, and notifications can shift our focus in a way that can lead to long-lasting difficulties with paying attention. Difficulties paying attention can lead to poorer performance on academic\, personal\, and professional tasks. \nLets embrace neuroplasticity\, be mindful and balance our technology use. \nThis program will last approximately one hour and will take place in the Shattuck Community Room. \nThis program was made possible by the Friends of the Neenah Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund. Donations to the Friends and the Trust Fund are always accepted and appreciated. \nEveryone is welcome. If accommodations are needed to attend\, please contact the library administrative office at 920-886-6315 or by email at library@neenahlibrary.org at least 24 hours in advance of the program.
