SUMMARY:PRE-FESTIVAL EVENT: Badger Talk - Bringing Dino-Birds to Life
DESCRIPTION:Uwe Bergmann’s Badger Talk – Bringing Dino-Birds to Life \nBirds have captured every corner of our planet. Long before modern birds appeared\, some dinosaurs started to show feathers rather than scales. With the help of powerful X-rays\, we are trying to disentangle the chemical remains in some of the most iconic dino-bird fossils\, including the famous Archaeopteryx\, and what we can learn about the life of these amazing creatures.

SUMMARY:Exploring Climate Solutions: Energy Conservation At Home & In Our Community
DESCRIPTION:We use a lot of electricity! Try out our pedal power bike and handcranked generator to experience how much energy it takes to light up bulbs\, operate a fan to cool you off\, and maybe even get a hair dryer to turn on! Let’s chat about the importance of energy conservation in our homes and our community as we prepare for the cold days of winter that are just around the corner.\nThis is one of a series of events offered by the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education at UW-Stevens Point in partnership with the Wisconsin Science Festival.
