Science on the Square/Madison Night Market Fusion

Friday10/204:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for one fantastic night that blends science with downtown Madison businesses!

Back for its fifth year, the ever-popular Science on the Square event is again fusing with the Madison Night Market to create a unique way to explore hands-on science activities while also supporting local businesses and vendors. Plus, as a nod to the “International Year of Glass,” we are proud to focus on glass and the many ways it impacts science, art and technology. Discover how glass can help us see new perspectives, improve our communication and further explore our world and beyond. Learn more about the science that surrounds us every day while exploring downtown Madison.

  • Outdoor STEM-themed activities mixed with Madison Night Market vendor tents throughout State Street.
  • Indoor locations showcasing interesting exhibits, talks, or menu/product specials for you to check out as well.
  • 30-minute physics demonstrations with Haddie McLean and the Wonders of Physics at 5:30 and 7 p.m. on the stage near the top of State Street (capitol end).
  • Live music at Lisa Link Peace Park (400 block) starting at 4:30 p.m. with Tani Diakite and the Afrofunkstars, followed by Elements at 6 p.m.
  • MilliporeSigma Curiosity Cube on Gilman Street

The Wisconsin Science Festival and Madison’s Central Business Improvement District are proud to bring you an event you won’t want to miss. Join us in downtown Madison between 4 and 8 p.m. on Friday, October 14, for fun for all ages!
