Science on Tap

Thursday10/276:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We’re exploring the space where science and culture intersect, and we’re doing it over drinks.
Grab a brew (or root-brew!) and meet us online OR on-site at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This Carpenter lecture series features some of the best minds in science. From the sensation of being hugged by an octopus to quantum mechanics, Science on Tap looks to answer questions you never knew you had!
“Exploring the Deep” with Corey Jaskolski
Corey has spent much of his career building new technologies for exploring the world’s most amazing places, many of which have been underwater. His work has taken him scuba diving in the frigid waters of Antarctica, 12,500 feet deep in a three-man submarine to explore Titanic, 3D-scanning the skulls of Maya human sacrifice victims in flooded caves, and shark diving. To explore these underwater sites, Corey has built robotic camera systems, advanced robotic power systems, 3D scanners and other one-of-a-kind tools. In this presentation, Corey will share some of his adventures and behind-the-scenes stories from the deep!
