Crossroads at Big Creek, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society and the Door County Libraries are collaborating to invite the community to observe the moon and learn more about science.

We will offer an in-person lecture “We Chose to Go to the Moon,” a virtual lecture “What’s Up in Space,” a film and a preschool reading event all focused on the moon. The week climaxes on October 16, NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night, during which Door County residents and visitors will gather at the Astronomy Campus at Crossroads, and along with people all over the world, join in observing the moon and learning to use the loaner telescope available throughout the Door County Library System.


10/12 – 7 p.m. – DPAS Meeting: We Chose to Go to the Moon
10/13 – 6 p.m. – Virtual Lecture: What’s Up in Space
10/14 – 4 p.m. – Film: Cosmic Collisions
10/15 – 10 a.m. – Preschool Program: Reading with Miss Beth
10/16 – 6 p.m. – International Observe the Moon Night
