Geographical Evolution of North American Rivers

Wednesday10/126:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Recent research has demonstrated that the lower Wisconsin River developed as part of an eastward-flowing river system, rather than as a tributary of the Mississippi River. This talk with Professor Eric Carson discusses that research and the changes North American rivers have experienced over the last several million years.

Wisconsin Science Festival Week seemed to be the most appropriate time to host our inaugural program in the Jim Mikula Memorial Program Series, which has been delayed for the past two years because of the pandemic. Thanks to a very kind donation from the Mikula family, we are thrilled to be able to offer an annual program focused on Wisconsin’s natural history and habitat.

Attend in-person in the Felker Family Genealogy & Local History Room on the second floor of the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library or online via Zoom webinar by registering here: https://bit.ly/3qvSz6y.
